The 3DO Goldstar controller is truely great - for me, it's definitely the
way to go and absolutely the best 3DO thing produced by Goldstar.

Messerschmitt! Yes, nice! :) But, though Messerschmitt is a combination of 2 German words (Messer = knife, Schmitt = Smith), it's basically more a name than a regularly used word in German language. Probably comparable to an English surname like "Cunningham" or something like this. (Which also has a...

PS1 games on 3DO?

Alright, another one of those "theoretical questions":

Which (early) PS1 games could also have been realized on the 3DO?

I vote for "GTA".

And I also would love to see "Wipeout" on the 3DO. Even if it runs
only at 3.5fps, just to see, how the 3DO would do it in direct comparison.

Hey, nice German word! :)

Recently I've read in a British magazine a poll called "How German
are you?".
One of the questions was:
What's your favourite number?
a) seven
b) two
c) nein!

Recently I've read an article saying that we already reached the maximum brain-power possible. The thing is: the brain itself would be able to run at a higher "processing speed", but it would need more energy for that. And our bodies can't provide more energy for the brain. So we are finally all lik...

There have been tests many years ago. They've checked the weight of
people shortly before their (anticipated) death and shortly afterwards.
Goal was to measure, if their was a change in weight when the soul
left the body. No weight changes occured. Ergo: The soul has no mass.

The "Intro-Phenomenon"

Back in the middle 90s, a game intro seemed to be somehow an indicator for the overall quality of the game. The longer the better! I remember magazines advertising for games with the length of their intros. I was *amazed* by the cinematic intro of "It came from the desert", delighted by the whole li...

Yes, that's true. But modern flash drives are "smart" and try to use all
areas of the memory equally when writing. This increases the live span
a lot. Strictly spoken, conventional hdds have a limited amount of writes, too.

Pimp my laptop

Hi guys, I am planning to make my laptop a bit faster and decided to buy a new HDD. Has anyone any experiences with those flash memory hard discs? How fast do they really are in comparison with a normal SATA hdd (boot-up speed, data transfer rate,...)? Also I've noticed now, that there are hdds with...

I never managed to get into either Cannon Fodder or Syndicate on the 3DO. I played them both to death on the Amiga but the Dpad implementation never worked for me on the 3DO. The dpad is indeed a bit clumsy for those games. Wasn't there also support for the 3DO mouse? And... if I used a SNES pad ad...

This is fantastic! :) So the 3DO has actually 3 processors to possibly do 3D calculations: - 12,5MHz ARM60 (32bit) - 12,5MHz NTG maths-copro (32bit) - 25MHz DSP (16bit). (plus, finally, the 2 CEL engines for the end-rendering and effects) The Arm CPU outputs (as far as I know) 10 MIPS of power. Do y...

Best CD32 games?

What would you guys say are the must-haves for the CD32 console? I would say... 1. Superfrog (best Jump'n Run ever!) 2. Alien Breed II (great atmosphere, better than the 3rd part) 3. Lotus Trilogy (Lotus 2 was the best racing game of the early 90s) 4. Worms (very funny multiplayer party game) 5. Ben...

Does anyone share the opinion that "Cannon Fodder" is just

Actually I always liked Cannon Fodder better - even the 3DO
