- OK, so far here is a crash i was able to get happen more than once. Deselecting run previous image then reopening the emulator results in an unhandled exception. This is fixable by the user by deleting the settings file and opening the emulator again. Doh! Good find. Looks like the settings load/...

FreeDO with hardware graphics acceleration

I have been allying with with Google translate and browsing some of the Russian forums. Altmer at some point passed a remarkable barrier with a proof-of-concept in his version of FreeDO. Has anybody else looked at these screenshots? http://www.arts-union.ru/smf/index.php?topic=265.0; Here's a copy o...

Fix for Windows XP (+64 bit?) I believe I figured out what's going wrong with the XP crash reports. Turns out it was rather simple. I'm a little irked about the misleading error message we were getting :x. On the machine I recreated it on, it actually was due to being unable to find c++ runtimes. I...

Anyone else getting this? same here Someone on sourceforge brought it to my attention as well. I tried it out too and got the same error....

Wasn't the official source released pretty lacking or something though from what I remember hearing here? Any source leaked would be old anyways. I'm sure they would have a copy before that other guy made the emulator much better. I remember hearing threats of leaking a couple years ago. And to be ...

Version 1.0.1.55 Available I've uploaded 1.0.1.55! Here's a quick changelist. * Full screen mode * Window resize snapping * Toggle for preserving image aspect ratio * Toggle for image smoothing. (i.e. Nearest Neighbor vs. Binlinear) * Ability to reset the console. * Ability to pause emulation and s...

Well shoot. I guess version 1.0.0.0 will only work on 32 bit Windows 7. I'm not terribly surprised about 64-bit being an issue, but I am surprised that about Windows XP. Thanks for the feedback. I'll look into it. Here's a general overview of my current set of priorities: * Full screen (windowed mod...

FourDO's debut!

Alpha version ready! I got the controls figured out tonight. So, that's everything! Well, almost. I forgot about and neglected NVRAM, but I don't care just yet. I happily present to the public, FourDO version 1.0.0.0 alpha !! https://sourceforge.net/projects/fourdo/files/? Feel free to try it out. ...

http://imgcandy.com/di-RJ1V.png Working on controls seemed tedious when I had to sit through boot and intros to test them. So I've got some basic features in. It's easier for me to work on things with that sweet option to automatically load the last save state. Why don't more emulators do that? Unf...

Thanks for the enthusiasm! Audio was pretty easy to hook up. I got that going tonight. I noticed some garble-ing in the audio at times (happened once on the killing time main menu). I believe that problem is in the core code. Nuts. Well, I'll get to that later, I suppose. I'll move onto controls next.

I couldn't help but notice that parts of FreeDO went open source. Last weekend I downloaded what was uploaded to see if it could function on its own. It's been about a week, and I've been able to compile the FreeDO core and interface with it minimally. I have fed it a ROM to see what happens, and I ...

My guilty pleasure may have been "Life Stage: A Virtual House".

You simply get to design your own house (including windows, wallpaper, furniture, plants), and walk around it in 3D.

All the reviews I saw hated it, but I loved it!

I certainly love it, but it's possible it's was just great at the time. Few games had that much content. I think the game was remarkably cohesive too, there are very few parts of the game that are needless. I played it without instructions or a starmap, which drove me insane, especially when I could...

My vote would be Trip'd , which someone already said. I also had Olympic Summer Games, I thought I was the only one! I didn't think it was all that good, though. The good news is that an HLE emulator (like FourDO) should be able to run "unsigned" code. I guess the bad news would be that it may take a while to get to that point.

Mild progress

Hi fellas. A mild amount of progress on the 3DO emulator. There's a skeleton interface in place, and my friend (code name "hankystyles") has written code to traverse the 3DO file system. We've thrown together a preliminary ISO browser with the even more preliminary CEL viewer. Many of the games incl...

And you call yourselves 3DO fanatics? Sheesh. I'll show you how it's done. Captain Quazar is great for co-op of course. Fifa International Soccer definitely had co-op. Up to 6 players, I believe. Slam 'n Jam '95 had co-op, too, I think. Alright, well, that's all I know of that haven't been mentioned.
