Re: Best story on the 3DO?

Hrm Story....I totally agree story can make or break a game. I overlooked "The Dig" for over a decade, now it's one of my favorite adventures games of all time. There were times i was really into - Lost Eden. I had many chuckles with - Braindead 13 I've never played this, but maybe other people can ...

3DSxl: 1907-7977-5467 i'm trying to max out my house first, but I have a nice fruit farm going as well. i have apples/lemons/oranges/lychees/coconuts/mangos/and something else... it can turn into a time sink really quick. I try to limit myself to less than an hour a day. The longer you play the less...

Re: Recent Gaming Purchases

Yeah. The hello kitty ones are pretty reasonable, and kinda funny. The rest are just insane.

I feel silly having multiple versions of hardware though. 3do was about as far as i went in that regard.

Re: Alone in the Dark vs. Resident Evil

You will have no appreciation for Alone in the Dark if you jump to RE.

Alone in the Dark has dated graphics, but it's not a zombie game. There's a little more puzzle solving and a lot less combat. It's not scary now, but I was a mess when this game first came out on PC.

Re: Best picture quality? How do you 3DO?

I run an upscaler for any of my 480i systems. This was primarily for laserdiscs, but I found it worked great for classic consoles as well. For some games it can make it worse to sharpen the image, but this is rare. Ultimately, I would love to have an XRGB3 or XRGB-mini. Both are amazing as seen here...

Re: Immercenary

You could grind up some stats real quickly if you know the right locations. The problem was this game needed an FAQ at launch to be enjoyable. I never sunk that many hours into it when I first picked it up. I think it's one of the hidden gems now. The concept reminded me a little of Paradriod, where...

I dont really think there is such a thing as laser strain. The laser is constant power. It doesn't compensate for CDR's.

You can adjust the laser power, which would add wear on it.

There may be some truth to the lens having to adjust more frequently as this is a moving part.

Take that thing apart and look for burn marks or broken connections.

We probably have two factors contributing to these problems. Yes, you may need adjust the pot to read CDR's. These are also very old machines now. The laser is not as powerful as it used to be. Any additional movement required for the lens will wear out the entire part faster. I would add, that a ne...

This is the last gen of consoles with physical media.

PS4 and Xbox 1 are also x86 architecture now. That means ultimately my computer will always be better than these consoles. I see a resurgence in PC gaming with this round.

impulse X is a simple but polished looking arkanoid. Not sure many Jag people are going to jump on that.

The IP's were not that strong. If they were any good, they were ported to other systems e.g. Gex

3do studios had some good games, but not that strong outside 3do community.

So i like steel diver, but it can be a tough game. It's slow paced and simple, but there's quite a bit of challenge. You manage your ballasts to go through mazes essentially. Mario 3DS makes excellent use of the 3d effect. Kid icarus as well. being 1st party though, you probably wont get em cheap. I...

Everything slows down when you get older. You have less friends and less free time. There is still a flurry activity, but you need to know where to find it. Having a dead arcade scene doesnt help with that. I've recently discovered a ton of activity over at Steam. I've picked up so many cheap indie ...

Gamefaqs didn't even get the release right, so the date is probably wrong as well. There was a lot of hype before this game came out, so I'm guessing Atari made the decision to try and include the Jaguar on the list.

I don't think there is anything other than screenshots for this. It was being ported by Atari directly, but they probably dropped it due to poor reviews. The game wasn't all that great.
