FFIV and VI have to be my favorites, but I stopped after that. Fell out of it with RPGs in general in the mid '90s.. I did just start a new game of Suikoden (part I) on my PSP a few days back. First RPG I've played in a loong, long time, and it reminds me of what made the classic Final Fantasy games...

This game always kicks my arse.. I don't think I have ever made it farther than stage three. :( It really is impressive, though--Other than the stretching/skewing of the textures, it's visually on par with most PlayStation games, for sure (At least the early ones). If only the 3DO was around just a ...

Privilege, absolutely. Who's paying for this? Not me.. I have no "right" to be here.. If I act like an arse, I'm liable to be kicked. I consider forums to be public outlets.. Like any public venue, be it behind a computer screen or at a local pub, you are bound to the rules of the place and are liab...

Hm.. I don't know, a matter of taste, I suppose. I actually originally played the PSX version and found that one to be faster-paced with faster, larger firepower and a more all-out arcade-style feel. The full-screen video was a nice touch, too. I tried out the 3DO version for the first time well aft...

I like OutRun 2 for the XBOX, or its revamped version (difficult to find in the wild), OutRun 2006: Coast 2 Coast.

If you happen to like first person shooters of the mindless kind, Painkiller: Hell Wars was very overlooked, and Darkwatch seems to be forgotten.

Really? I'll keep my eyes open for that one. I still haven't found my carts. Depending on what your tastes are, yeah, it's pretty sweet. I actually uploaded a video of it last night (sig) going over the game and explaining the concept of it. Most people get turned off by the learning curve (Which t...

Kenseiden for the Master System - A solid Castlevania-esque game that has a non-linear element to it. The SMS could definitely have used more games like this.

My vote is for Yellow on the Goldstar. The original color combination for the unit was rather boring.. Spice it up a bit! ;) My urine is yellow and not all that spicy. Although, I have never tried it, so maybe it is. Maybe "brighten it up a bit" would have been the better word selection here, haha....

In the mid-late '90s when I got into the Jaguar, I became addicted to Tempest 2000. Knowing that Defender 2K was made by the same person, I was stoked to try it. After eventually getting my hands on it, I have to say, I didn't know what to think. This game is so over-the-top it's outrageous. Tempest...

Here are some other details that readers (or purists) may find interesting: The screen and objects don't move as smoothly as other versions of Raiden (Primarily the arcade, PSX, and Genesis releases). It looks like the overall framerate is a bit lower. Some people may not notice it, but it's a littl...

Regarding the gay FZ-10 pictured above, was there an earlier packaged version of it in Japan as well? I'm just curious.. I know the later packing for the system in the US uses essentially the same box styling as the Japanese one, ala with a different color palette.

My fondest experience is probably when I bought the system. I picked it up when they were marked down to $30 new (I think it was the Summer of '96 or '97). I already owned a Saturn and my brother had a Nintendo 64, but the thing still impressed, even if all I had to play was Cybermorph. The best mom...
