Re: And the Oscar goes to...
Yeah... In retrospect, it was really dumb for me to do this topic in poll form. Just way too many good candidates for people to choose from, and the crummy job I did of anticipating the biggest vote-getters didn't help. Oh well, not a big deal. Since I didn't say before, my pick is Kevin Breznahan. ...

Saw this in my subscriptions list a while ago and still haven't gotten to it. Rather a surprising choice of game for them, I must say... This is the first Japanese-developed game they've covered, isn't it?

Hmmm, maybe I should look into reviews and gameplay videos of this game more. I'm on a real puzzle gaming kick right now.

Everyone talks about the great fanboy war of Super Nintendo versus Sega Genesis/Mega Drive. But history seems to have forgotten an equally fierce war: the war between 3DO and CD-i fanboys!

Re: The Daedalus Encounter
I'm already on the final disc! Though I'm a bit stuck on the seven panels. Obviously it's a Rosetta Stone of some sorts, but what sort of message am I supposed to create, and more importantly, where am I supposed to input it? I thought that once I'd analyzed all 14 pictures it would take me to the n...

Re: Magazine tidbits
Thanks for the answer, Lemmi. So, another unreleased game, then? For some reason it just now occurred to me to take a look at the game's listed publisher. Software Toolworks. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think they did anything on the 3DO remotely like Dragon Tales. Though maybe the game eve...

The Daedalus Encounter
Just got this today in beautiful shape. Complete in box, still wrapped in the seal with the hang tab, though the seal was open at the top to allow the box's contents to be removed. The box has such a beautiful new sheen to it that you'd think it was a brand new DVD. I'm not bothered much about the c...

Re: And the Oscar goes to...
Yeah, I should have had someone listed from Shockwave, but I was limited in how many poll options I could choose and since I haven't played the game I wouldn't know which actor to pick. I totally didn't think of Need for Speed. Probably just because it's different in that it's not "interactive movie...

And the Oscar goes to...
I don't think this has come up before, despite the wealth of live action video on the 3DO. Basically, who's your favorite 3DO actor? I considered doing a poll for each game and then putting the winners into this poll, but given the low activity as of late, I think the only chance of getting a signif...

Bad Ebay seller alert
I thought I should post a warning here since the seller, hannah71783, still has a number of games listed on Ebay, including several 3DO games. As I posted on these forums, I recently purchased a copy of the 3DO version of Flashback. When I took it out of the package I noticed it had several scratche...

Flashback
I ran a search on the forums just to see what other folks here have had to say about this game, but despite several people listing it as one of their top five/top ten 3DO games, there appears to have been no actual discussion of Flashback here. Just wondering what people's thoughts are of the game i...

A belated reply, but this is an extremely well-written and informative review. Though I'd never heard of the game before, and your review has convinced me that it's not for me, I got a lot out of reading this. There's not a lot of info out there about Japanese-exclusive 3DO games, so it's good to kn...

Re: Review - Guardian War
One thing I want to ask, is the 3DO fully capable of transparency? Some of the magic I've used in the game definitely looks like a real transparency and not a dither effect, but I'm playing over composite so I could be mistaken. I agree, I distinctly remember what looked like real transparencies wh...

Re: Review - Starblade
Is there any reason why Namco chose to use FMV for the game instead of realtime 3D? The flat shaded polys don't look like anything the 3DO couldn't handle. Even the textured ones don't look too taxing given that objects do the same thing every time you play the game. Real time graphics don't offer ...

No the comment wasn't in jest and I stand by it. Well I'll back off a little on the 'completely' remark. But in large Gamepro and DieHard GameFan were horribly biased. Wasn't Gamepro the one that called NBA Jam on the Jaguar worse than the SNES version? Nope. http://i1019.photobucket.com/albums/af3...

Well, I will say that the way they integrated the video game footage into the new footage is pretty good, though at some points the editing is very disorienting. It was nice to get a look at some of the footage for Maximum Surge, at least, though unfortunately you don't get much of a feel for what t...

Re: Recent 3DO Purchases
I got a copy of Flashback. I've been vaguely interested in the game ever since I first saw advertisements for the Genesis version in my comic books, and its heavy use of cinematics would seem to make it a perfect fit for the 3DO. Besides, the 3DO is the only one of the many platforms Flashback has a...

Have any of you seen, what did you think? I saw a few portions of it on Youtube and in the websites of Insight Studios and Flash Film Works. I realized it turned to a terrible, terrible movie. I assume you're talking about Game Over. If so, yes, I have it on VHS. I got it for $5 including shipping ...

Mega Man X3. Apparently the version actually existed and was available very briefly at retail. Huh, really? I knew it was in development but hadn't heard about a retail version. Are there pics available? I haven't heard of a retail version, either, and the Mega Man X3 Wikipedia article says it wasn...

If I'm not mistaken, exumed uses the SlaveDriver Engine, the same as PO'ed on 3DO. Would have been a relatively easy port. MobyGames says PO'ed uses SlaveDriver, but that doesn't make any sense. I don't see anything else that says that. Yeah, SlaveDriver was designed specifically for PowerSlave (a....

Re: This is driving me nuts... (3DO Samurai Shodown port)
I've been reading some more Electronic Gaming Monthly, and interestingly enough, it turns out that whether or not SNK should have the 3DO version of Samurai Shodown be nerfed was a hot topic even before the game was released! I think Ed Semrad makes some interesting points here. http://i1019.photobu...

I've often thought of bumping this topic. It's a good thread which keeps popping up in my forum searches. This time I found it because I'd just learned that 3DO and 32X versions of Rayman had been in the works. Aside from making one pleasantly dream of what might have been, it makes you realize just...

Typical negative article based on heresy. Many of us here have Sanyos , myself included. They simply repor...
