Re: Talking with Mike Fulton, an ex-Atari employee

Great thread Chris/Mike. It's always nice to hear things from (pretty much) the horses mouth, especially when concerning a console as maligned as the Jaguar. Although, only being a 'gamer level' individual, some of the technical aspects are completely lost on me (RISC compilers, UART bugs... etc). I...

You're not Walter. But, unfortunately, I have zero interest in our own (considered the best in the world) football leagues and only very limited interest in international football. I love how the links here don't open in a separate tab :| I had a look at that. He' snot actually selling Lucienne's Quest, as such. Also, if you look closely, he has other pre-printed CD-R's for other gems and rarities too. Including Eye of Typhoon! Pre-printed BLANK CD-R's that is... so you can be...

Yeah... I'dve thought Snow Job would have been quite rare actually. Guess not! I've always had an eye out for a copy of Bazookatone, but haven't turned one up for some time. I know it's common on other platforms (Saturn etc) but err... it's not the sort of game I'd buy for the Saturn. It w...

Re: PAL 3DO Collectors

Thanks. Yes that was me, my NTSC board still works great with the UK PSU. I'm now just 9 off a full PAL set now (if 81 is the true total). Probably is 81. Seems nobody really knows for absolute definite, but seems you and BEARD have the best grasp on how many there could, or very well, should be. I...

I am a PAL 3DO collector and hope I can add to this topic: I (at present) think there were 81 PAL 3DO games... PsychFox, this is an excellent list. Thank you very much. If your list, is indeed accurate re: all the official PAL releases, not including US imports with ratings stickers, then, unbeknow...

Re: Unique cars in the wilde

Being a Brit, I am of course loving the Mini there. Back when Mini's were, err... 'Mini'... Mini and great, before all that BMW b*llocks. BMW have really run the BMW Mini into the ground here in Europe (esp. UK), but not sure how many are kicking around your neck of the woods. For example, we don't ...

Re: Giving Killing Time another chance

The PAL versions quite uncommon, but when it does appear it's usually in the £5-10 range. There's 2 on eBay France but their way over-priced and have been listed for months. Yeah PAL only for me, I'm hoping to complete my collection this year unless I get side tracked as usual. Although you've give...

@ NeoGeoNinja - Another exclusive 3DO FPS I enjoy is Immercenary, u might want to check it out. +1 from over in my corner here, re: Killing Time being f*cking awesome! It really is a great game. One the one hand, I'm happy its a relatively obscure/unknown 3DO classic, but... on the other hand, probably would have been cool (at the time) to see this ported to Saturn or/& PS1, just to give the g...

Re: This is driving me nuts... (3DO Samurai Shodown port)

I can actually understand SNK's rationale. Licensing ports to other consoles earns you money, but on the other hand, you don't want to create your own competition. But while I understand it, I don't think it really makes sense. Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't get the sense that a port being arcade-per...

Re: What is SS Worth?

That's the problem with buying 3DO games on eBay. I mean, yeah, other systems have similar issues (like Saturn and Sega CD longbox cases being sent in envelopes), but the 3DO probably has it the worst, no thanks to the typical, flimsy cardboard box that is easily crushed. Nah. SNES, NES, JAG, N64, ...

Re: Best picture quality? How do you 3DO?

I just use composite for my 3DO as it happens, straight from the 3 phonos at the rear, to the phonos on the front of the TV (CRT). The picture quality is surprisingly decent for Composite IMO. EVERY other console I have is hooked up via RGB SCART via powered multi-SCART blocks, for the best possible...

Well, they went out of business because they released the 3DO version of DOOM! Really sad. Seriously though, from what I read in that translation, they ever seem to admit that the 3DO version of DOOM isn't up to par, which really is very sad. I don't know what to say about the game, personally. I r...

Most of us in the Turbografx community refer to these people as "Collectards". Not saying that you can't collect and enjoy for a system, but going to the extent that these guys go through doesn't help. They are the main reasons why the bubble for gaming is so inflated now as it is and games cost al...

FZ-10! I'm totally loving your burning enthusiasm for the 3DO right now! :D However, I do agree with Goldenballs and Austin Texas on this one I'm afraid. You can't properly review a game until you have at least completed it, or seen it through to the later levels/near end really. I too, think that '...

Nice! The Lost World is a great choice of dedicated cabinet. I've never played or seen a stand up one before though! Never even knew that existed. I've only ever played/seen the sit down ones myself over the years. I don't own a cab myself, but if I could, I'd probably have a HOTD 1 cabinet, like yo...

Just thought I'd chime in... TRIP'D is one of my fave 3DO titles.

Ordinarily, I don't actually enjoy Puzzle games (y'know, the usual falling block sh*t.), but something about this one - simple as it is - always pulls me in.

It's quite charming.
