I would try powering it on with the cover off and pushing on the chips to see if the condition goes away. Use the plastic end of a screwdriver. Maybe you have a loose or bad solder connection.

I've seen figures similar to that. The one that stands out in my mind was some sales figures from 1995. 3do and Saturn 250k, Playstation 500k units.

I like the Goldstar for its VCR looks and gamepad (which I'd recommend over the Panasonic ones). You don't need to go far to find out that the Goldstar build quality lags behind the Panasonic models. Many can't play backups. Early ones have compatibility problems with a couple of games, sucky games ...

3DO systems are very durable. Cheap example: FZ-1 and FZ-10...no problems whatsoever. (Made in the 90s) Xbox360...died within 2 years. Saturn fanboys are the worst of all. It always comes back to "well they never learned to use the system" but neglect the FACT that it couldn't be utilized fully because of the system bus. And nothing on the Saturn looks as good as anything on Playstation, besides the 2d stuff. Playstation in general...
