Yeah good old 17% slower PAL with it's letterbox display. This is of course only if the original NTSC versions weren't adapted correctly (or at all) for PAL. As for the two auctions: Same game, there's no difference! The game was not adapted to PAL, hence the back of the European box says that it d...

I've got a high-res version of that video (captured by Madroms), which also has correct colors (the car is red, not orange ;)). I can upload it if anyone is interested.

Anyone tried it on Win9x or ME yet? If ASPI doesn't work there, I'll remove it completely.

That's what you meant with "original model"... The FZ-21S wasn't really the original model, though it depends on your definition. Anyway, no, I don't have an FZ-21S. Currently not worth the money for me, as I can do much more with the FZ-35S. The FZ-21S is a nice unit to put in a showcase, but that'...

This is the unit that plays dvds if I am correct. Yes, it's an FZ-35S 1H1-M with a DVD drive and a 20 GB hard disk (there were a lot of variations). The most advanced piece of M2 hardware that was ever build. :) And the only unit that can (theoretically) play all M2 software, even the arcade games....

I'd also like to see some shots of the 2 kiosk units. Here's my kiosk unit along with a proto controll pad: http://img69.imageshack.us/img69/2267/m2ch2.jpg Looks a bit used, but that's because I actually used it a lot for testing. I have pictures of virtually every piece of M2 hardware and of most ...

Re: Where's the homebrew?

The devkit has been leaked. The console has been around for over a decade. Surely somebody should have been able to do something by now! First of all, the SDK has been leaked, not the devkit. ;) The SDK is quite old and rather useless without having the shitload of docs that came with it. And even ...

OperaFS Reader v0.03

As I've already mentioned in the "Introduce yourself" topic, I wrote a small Windows tool that allows reading of and extracting files from 3DO discs. I wrote this tool mainly for myself while doing research on how the M2 kiosk units work (filesystem-wise, boot files, etc.) and how to get them play t...

"Real Sound"? That game without any graphics? Hard to believe that it contains any hidden D2 for M2 stuff. But if it does, it's most likely the other part of the intro (the San Francisco scene).

Afaik, the encryption has not been fully cracked yet. The SDK will work with a boot disc. You would insert the encrypted boot disc, let it load to a certain point and then insert the unencrypted game. Quite similar to the disc swap trick to play backup copies on an unmodded Playstation.

There's no region lock on 3DO, but a few "NTSC" titles don't work on PAL units and vice-versa. But if none of your 20 games work on a PAL unit, then I'd say the unit is broken.

I've talked to Kenji Eno and he told me that he doesn't have anything of D2 left. It's unlikely that someone else has, so this game is most likely lost forever. :( It also said that the dev PC's that held D2 now no longer existed... That's what most former M2 devs said when I talked to them. Not sur...

Actually, as far as I know the 3DO had the best FMV of any version. I think the pc was only half the screen size (think early sega cd, but w/higher resolution) The difference was that the 3DO version had the FMVs running in full-screen because the screen resolution was only 320x240 (same resolution...

If it has a normal cd tray, then you have the second model. The first model does not have a cd tray at all, instead the whole cd drive comes out of the unit.

There were two different versions of the Goldstar 3DO. The first one had a cd drive similar to the one used in the Sanyo 3DO. That one had huge problem with quite a few games. Goldstar then replaced the cd drive with a more ordinary one, which fixed almost all compatibility problems.
