PO'ed Fan Site
If anyone's interested, I'm building a PO'ed fan site, the U.S.S. Pompous, as a sister site to The Conway Estate. Post any thoughts or content requests you have here.

Slayer Dungeon Seeds
How many people have played a lot of Slayer? It's quickly become my favorite 3DO title and I wondered if anyone had memorable dungeon seeds/configurations they'd like to share. I tried just typing "Lovecraft" (capitalized) and set monsters to either "bugs" or "magical" (I think it was bugs). The res...

Re: Why has 3DO Zone disappeared from Google?
This appears to have become an issue again. Searching for 3do Zone OR 3do*stopfuckingcorrectingmethisissuchastupidfeature*Zero turns up nothing on google/startpage, but yahoo's search engine has no trouble finding the forum at all.

Killing Time Flash Game Beta
A visitor to my regular site linked me to a fan-project of his , and urged me to share the beta if I thought it was worth sharing. I've since added it to The Conway Estate Kitchen . It's a Myst-style point-and-click with shooting segments, all made in Flash. It uses screenshots and other resources f...

Yeah, the PC version, which I shoulda specified. That's the one Burger Heineman worked on.Martin III wrote:This would be the PC version of the game, I assume?

Important Update for Killing Time fans
Dunno when or if it'll actually happen, but apparently there are plans to put Killing Time up on Steam. Guess Burger finally got the rights, so we'll see if this actually happens or not (fingers crossed).

Re: Killing Time PC patch for Windows 7
Mike Lutynski gave it a whirl and this is what he had to say: I tried the hacked/patched Killing Time under Win7 and it works! Yay! Plus with those up-scaled, 320x8x8 -> 640x480x8 intro videos it definitely doesn't crash any more. The only caveat is that every few seconds, the game screen flickers (...

Re: Giving Killing Time another chance
The link in my signature covers all my thoughts on Killing Time. Can't think of anything else to add at the moment. Well that's not entirely true. Anyone ever play Realms of the Haunting and think of it as a much more polished game in the same vein as Killing Time? Though its flavor is definitely le...

Re: Seriously, why no new port of DOOM?
^ Disagree. It's worth getting if you're a 3do completionist. As a Doom fan you sure as hell won't bother playing it if you have it. The worst things I recall from this port: - Choppy as hell when you try to use a screen size larger than a matchbox. - Auto-aim has been drinking too much, and barely ...

Killing Time PC patch for Windows 7
I was contacted by a very enthusiastic Killing Time fan whose epic internet voyage rewarded him with a method for playing the game on Window 7 . I don't have the game anymore and have had tough luck finding it without having to install a shady downloader first, so I thought I'd post it here and see ...

Slayer Bug? Thieves Tools Don't Work?
I thought if I posted this here, maybe somebody would have an answer for me. The manual says the Thieves' Tools can be used either of two ways: 1) Equip in either hand and use them. 2) Highlight them in the inventory screen and press B. I've done every variation of both methods that I can think of, ...

Re: Slayer
The benefit to using thieves' tools instead of keys is each key uses an inventory slot, versus one slot for the tools. That's a lot of free inventory space! At any one time I have anywhere from one to five keys on me, taking up space that could be saved for potions or rations. Still can't get the da...

[quote="3DOKid"]Same here. Years ago, I shared a house with a guy that played dungeons and dragons (with dice) and his tales sounded so awesome. I got a new 3DO for Christmas to replace the problematic old one for the time being, and Slayer was one of my new purchases for the 3DO library. I've been playing all night two nights in a row, getting the feel for how the game works, and I'm still learning how to Slay it seems. My current run is wi...

Re: Did My 3DO Storage Method Damage It?
Thanks, NeoGeo! Yeah, the tray still works fine. The system boots normally, and I can put games in and take 'em out. It's just not reading the disks at all: once a game is in, the screen goes black and it doesn't even make much noise. Not sure if there's even a sound of anything struggling to work. ...

Re: Did My 3DO Storage Method Damage It?
Fun new update: now it won't run games. Turns on, shows the logo and all that. I put a game in, it sits on a black screen. And these were games I was playing only 12 hours ago.
I'm assuming this means the system is kaput and I have to get a replacement.

Did My 3DO Storage Method Damage It?
I have a Panasonic with the retractable CD tray. Last time I busted the thing out was probably roughly a year ago: I've kept it stored in my closet all that time. It was always in its original box, styrofoam blocks and all, and stored on its side. I busted it out with the intent of adding new games ...

Re: Let's Play - Sampler Disc 4, Interplay 3DO Buffet
Nice, quite a variety here. The PS1 version of PO'ed has a code that unlocks the fart noises for the Buttheads -- go to the Load Game menu and press L1 + R1 + L2 + R2 simultaneously to toggle it -- but I'm not sure about the 3DO version. For 3DO, somebody online said you highlight a slot on the Load...

Re: Let's Play - PO'ed
Yes! So glad you're doing this game, since you talked about it so much in the EfMM videos. I still think the PSX version is superior, but it's PO'ed and I love it anyway. I beat it on the PSX many times and even somehow managed to find the two secret maps. It's in my top ten FPS games list for sure ...

In addition to the fact that my co-host and I both used to work at 3DO, I also wrote (most of) Monster Manor in a blur back in 1993, and thus can hopefully lend a genuinely unique perspective on the game and its creation. I missed this sentence when I clicked the link, so your discussions during th...

As for Killing Time, I have word that a new interview from one of the level designers is underway :) That's what I heard, too.
