After that, LaunchMe is the main executable, so you can guarantee that it will be unique for all games (including different versions of a game). Really? How would it be unique? Is there a timestamp or something? I installed the SDK and got the samples compiling and such. I also remember the cd mast...

Are you able to read individual files instead of sectors? If so, then there are some good candidates. I would start with the Disc label. After that, LaunchMe is the main executable, so you can guarantee that it will be unique for all games (including different versions of a game). Then there's signa...

I have a Duo. You probably have a unit with bad capacitors. It happens all the time to Duos.

This is, by far, the best TG-16/PCE/Duo forum: http://www.pcenginefx.com/forums/index.php

Their repair/mod forum has several threads about capacitor replacements.

This happens to EVERY Virtual Boy. Like, ever. I have two and they do the same thing. For some reason, Nintendo thought it would be a good idea to attach the ribbon cable to the LED screen with glue. WTF? I've done the oven trick a few times, and it definitely works. The problem comes back before to...

So it does track your handicap! That's pretty cool. Handicap is a calculation that lets people of different skill levels compete against one another by adjusting their scores. There's a fairly complicated process for calculating your handicap, but the end result is a number that basically says how y...

I have toyed with some 3DO homebrew and have been very impressed with the cel engine. It's very powerful, but easy to work with. This might be a long shot, but you wouldn't have access to any of the old training materials you used to teach the 3DO University classes, would you? I would LOVE to "lear...

The "HDCP" column is the handicap of the hole, not your own individual handicap. The handicap of a hole ranks its difficulty in comparison to other holes on the course. HDCP 1 is the hardest hole on the course, 18 is the easiest. The red numbers don't seem to be directly related to your score. I'd b...

According to the development documentation... Because a theoretically unlimited number of peripherals can be daisy-chained, the control port has no fixed maximum number of devices. The number of devices that can be daisy-chained is limited only by the bandwidth of the port. When too many peripherals...

The SNES's SFA2 port was pretty respectable, so I'm sure 3DO could have done even better. But the vs. series? I don't think so, even with a hypothetical RAM expansion.

I think his point is that there were lower expectations for what Doom on the SNES could be, so a crappy port was still impressive by SNES standards.
