I'm more interested to hear your opinions on the game if you end up choosing to revisit it. Especially if you don't like it.

Nah. SNES, NES, JAG, N64, Gameboys of all eras etc... They all have it rough dude. Especially here in the UK were old games are considered - simultaneously - disposable kids entertainment and expensive collectible commodities with expensive price tags... JUST BECAUSE... eBay pricing. Sure, I every ...

Re: What is SS Worth?

That's the problem with buying 3DO games on eBay. I mean, yeah, other systems have similar issues (like Saturn and Sega CD longbox cases being sent in envelopes), but the 3DO probably has it the worst, no thanks to the typical, flimsy cardboard box that is easily crushed.

I donno what it is about the Shuttle. I just 'needed' it :). I think with a Core II/CD2 plus that it'll be a fine collection :) Sheesh man, you must be rolling in the 'dough right now. Going by your posts at AtariAge, that's the XBOX One, 3DO (FZ-10), and the PC Engine Shuttle all in the last month...

Re: FZ-10's REVIEW: Stellar 7 Draxon's Revenge

And just to be clear, First Impressions-style commentary can absolutely have value! It's great to capture the excitement that comes with initially getting into a game, and that positive energy. It's just helpful to know upfront about the reviewer's breadth of experience with a game, just like it's ...

You have to play the whole game to make a review? ... If all I can play are the first 3-4 levels, and I like them, all is good then, no? Does it have a horrible ending or something? If you want your "review" to be a trusted source of information, then yeah, I'd argue completing the game is one of t...

Well, yeah, kind of like the Wii (which also effectively uses a mouse pointer on screen, not a light gun).

Captain Quazar is probably one of the better games on the system, if you like isometric, run 'n gun shooters (with mission-oriented elements). Has a good sense of humor too.

Damn, for the price these cost you probably could have got a Super Grafx. You'd get all the same perks, along with Ghouls 'n Ghosts. I'd recommend a Turbo Everdrive to tinker around with the library and figure out what you want. PCengine.co.uk is a great resource as well to discover new games....

I know the Saturn version sort of sucked (or really sucked), but what about the late '90s PC release? That seemed pretty spot-on to me.

Yeah I remembered that is where I got it is from Steam. I got it confused with my purchases from GOG. I got BLOOD from GOG. Which for some reason I never could get into. I'll give it another try. Blood is a really, really tough game. Difficult AI, shooting mechanics that aren't as lenient/forgiving...

But a couple I bid on went on to get ridiculous bids later in the auction. Trip'd was like that. Clarify what you mean by ridiculous? Trip'd was a $15 CIB game a couple of years ago. I have an original Midway Killer Instinct 2 cabinet. It's JAMMA, so I have a Sega ST-V arcade board dual-mounted alongside the stock KI2 board on the inside of it. I have a few other standard JAMMA boards I can swap in as well, like Double Dragon. I currently have five pinball machines--two newer St...

You need to be patient and wait for one to pop up on eBay as a legitimate auction, with a low starting price (no "Buy it Now" option). 3DO stuff is stupid expensive on eBay.. Or I should say, idiots list most 3DO games for stupid-expensive prices. If you actually find stuff at auction though, you wi...

Well, it's a novelty, that's for sure. And it's quite playable, which is more than can be said for at least half the games on the platform. ;)

I think someone said it uses the mouse, too? Bonus points for that I suppose.

Looks good, but I'd like to see it running on original hardware (with camcorder footage to show it preferably, just to know it's surely legit). It appears they are still using emulation for these videos, judging by the framerate counter at the top. If they can get it running this well on original ha...
