Re: New emulator - 3DOPlay
I'll stick to 4DO, I honestly don't see the point in this. I appreciate anyone who makes any effort to improve 3DO Emulation, but 4DO is running strong and well and is really close to perfection (I'm aware they're both based on FreeDO.) so I just honestly don't see this as necessary. Does anyone el...

Hoo boy, do I have some good news. Although I can't get 3DOPlay to run I can access the source code. And I'm trying their changes out now! Now, don't get your hopes up too much, but at first glance this seems to have solved at least the Gex and Street Fighter II freezes! I can play Gex again! I'm su...

New emulator - 3DOPlay
There's another emulator based off FreeDO code: http://3doplay.do.am/
It looks like he's been making some fixes to the core! On top of that, it's open too! Hooray!
However, I've tried a couple versions but I can't seem to get it to work. Has anybody else had any luck?

I didn't own Sewer Shark back in the day but I've gotta agree it's a great game. I have a soft-spot for FMV games, even though most were crappy-crap CRAPPIN' crap! Both the shooting and choose-a-direction thing in sewer shark works very well, in my opinion. I agree a light gun woulda been nice, but ...

Yikes! Maybe all the "Plumbers Don't Wear Ties" talk has got people in a tiffy. On the homebrew note, I remember one of the guys from FreeDO (felix/admin I think) talking about making the 3DO SDK available and usable on platforms other than the macintosh. Well, just the C headers and libraries. Stil...

Hating on Plumbers Don't Wear Ties always makes me feel relaxed. Hey! HEY! You darned kids. I can't go 5 minutes without someone hatin' on Plumbers. I'm gonna have to read all the threads to track this nonsense down. Bottom line: Plumbers Don't Wear Ties is Choose-Your-Own-Adventure with nic...

All of the talk about women in the old 3DO games and no one mentions Talana from Star Control 2? I almost mentioned Star Control 2. Something about ogling non-live-action babes seemed too nerdy. But, since you busted that wall down, HELL yeah Talana's a babe. I've "forged alliances" with her severa...

Lynx - I'm the first to list this one! Nobody had this one! I wonder if it's even more obscure than 3DO! However, Electrocop was amazing. As was Warbirds . 3D on a handheld! I've got a Lynx too. Haven't played Warbirds yet, but Blue Lightning impressed me quite a bit. (It's kinda sad that the Lynx ...

I think I have about 10 controllers (most of which are the crappy ProPad). On one occasion, I even hooked up 8 of them for the bomberman-clone minigame in Perfect General. People must have thought I was crazy. Ya know ... it's kinda comforting to remember that I've always been that odd and that I'm...

Is she worth seeing the dudes naked butt for? Give me Tracy from Snow Job, Tia from Daedalus Encounter, that chick from Corpse Killer, etc ... lots of fine 3DO ladies, and the games are actually good too. 8) You probably know this too, but in Plumbers Don't Wear Ties, there's even a cheat cod...

Unlike afred, it's a boring typical story for me. Pretty sure I got my FZ-1 for $200 used, but maybe less. I'm not sure where, though, and I think I was 15. I do remember all the games being dirt cheap and coming with controllers! I think I have about 10 controllers (most of which are the crappy Pro...

Well I had a bad run on console choices. Really, really bad. This is going to be embarassing. NES - Most mainstream system I ever owned. Life Force awaited me on its arrival. Intellivision - I had this after the NES. An Atari knockoff for sure. However, I liked the casual pick-up-and-play style. Tri...

Uh oh, the suggestion of polls is gaining traction. Pretty soon we'll all be slaves to casting votes on monthly inane character battles that always end with the most popular characters. By the way, on other sites it seemingly was always Sephiroth or Mario. For 3DO... I'd have to guess Gex. Unless St...

Please, good sir. It's not that bad. Yes, I said it. I'm not trying to change your mind, but I felt I needed to get it out there. There's far worse games. Phew! Someone finally said it. I can come out of the closet on this one. I have Plumbers Don't Wear Ties and I bought it when 3DO games were sti...

Tis true. I've beaten the game ... but you wouldn't know it if you watched me try & play it the other day ... seriously, you'd think it was the first time I'd ever popped it in my 3DO, I stunk so bad! :P I kinda wish they hadn't made it so that when you die you lose stuff (even stats!). Well I can tell you what I know, but it's not a full picture of what you'd need. I know that the movies in 3DO games are typically files. You should be able to traverse the file system of a 3DO cd somehow. I found an application that would do this at one point (is that what Isobuster is?), but you c...

Ooh, I'm glad I found this thread. Is there someone with the hook-up for a gob of these soundtracks? Megaupload, of course, is dead. Re: Have you got Ballz?
I think by the time Ballz arrived on 3DO, the 15 mins of fame that it enjoyed on the 16-bit consoles had ended. It certainly is a huge step up in all departments, and I really dig the atmosphere. The fighting engine though is ... I dunno, I gotta play it again (its been a while) Its a good fighter ...
