Cheers for the responses guys. I know what you mean 3DO Kid, I've had mine for two years and decided it was time to finally rig it up now that I've moved house. I've always thought I had an NTSC console and NTSC VCD unit. The packaging is very vague, due to there being lots of Japanese writing on it...

3DO Video CD Unit problems
Hi folks, I've recently rigged up my USA 3DO FZ10 with the Video CD unit, but when I put a video cd in nothing happens, even though the 3DO VCD logo appears before putting a cd in. It plays games fine. Any suggestions?

Hmm, that's a tough one. I'd place FIFA and Olympic Soccer very closesly at the top. Olympic Soccer is a faster and more arcade style of game compared to the more simulated FIFA, it also has some nifty comentary. Here's the list of Soccer games I'm aware of (put in rank order) 1, FIFA (J-league and ...

If only Studio 3DO got hold of the Doom license; as I'm pretty sure they would have made it into a damn fine game, also as pointed out earlier, the game was rushed and I think Studio 3DO would have taken alot more time on it. They could have made a lot more money out of Blade Force in the UK had the...

Doom would have lost even if ADI didn't botch it up!
Killing Time really blew me away when I first played it. I got it in Game around the time of it's release and it was on offer at £25, pretty cheap back then! It was the game that got me into the FPS genre and, to me it showcased what the 3DO was capable of. My Playstation mates were pretty jealous a...

Yeah, I can't wait to get my hands on Onside Soccer. Why it never got released initially was beyond me, games like this being cancelled were what caused the death of 3DO in the end. Maybe some other cancelled games will get released... Waterworld, NHL 96, Mortal Combat, Doom 2, Magic Carpet... the l...

11 years of waiting finally over
Unbelievable!!! This news is beyond my wildest dreams for the 3do, who would have thought that 2007 would bring 4 new games for it!!! Onside is the pick of the bunch for me, I remember waiting and waiting for that one, until it disappeared off 3DO magazine's Coming Soon list. Credit to Older Game fo...

I don't think the Goldstar had problems with many games. Although when I had my Goldstar back in the 90's I didn't purchase a lot due to being a scruffly little schoolkid!! So maybe some of the lesser known games are incompatable as well? I never had any problems with Po'ed, which was mentioned at t...

Yeh, that's the one biggest disappointment with the 3DO; quite a few decent games that are only available in Japanese. Policenauts, The Tower, Blue Forest Story are highly rated titles that many Westerners will never have the joy of playing. Some of the driving and sport sims are playable, but the l...

Yes, this game was released in Europe back in 1995, it may even have been a UK only release. Striker was a massive franchise back in the early 90's along with Sensible Soccer, but I don't think they were distributed outside Europe. It would have been great if 3DO had Sensible Soccer, Olympic Soccer ...

This is fantastic news!!! Okay, so Icebreaker wasn't the best game in the world, but hopefully if this ends up being a successful launch then it can pave the way for future projects. It's a shame the 3DO pads got so much stick in the gaming press. I agree about the d-pad, they should have improved on that with the smaller JPX-2, but wasted that opportunity. I liked the Goldstar ones quite a lot, but the Panasonic ones always felt sturdier. The headphone jacks were a genius idea ...

I got a Goldstar 3DO in late 95 for £299 and it was bundled with FIFA. I wanted one ever since its UK launch a year earlier as my uncle had an FZ-1. I think I paid £150 with my Amiga 1200 used as a trade in. I felt that the Goldstar was inferior to the FZ1, I had problems with one or two games and i...

At the time I though it was a nifty idea for 3DO to be released for the PC, it was an example of how quirky and unique the 3DO was, on the downside the poor compatability also gives an example of how shocking some of its marketing was. I don't think you can use Game Guru with the Memory Unit, so I'd keep it srink wrapped if I were you!!! If anyone has managed this then let me know as mine isn't compatible with the Game Guru. I think it is a great game. Very hard though!!! I can complete Wolfenstein on 'Bring it on' level, but even on level 2 difficulty I am nowhere near on this. I think the game is ambitious and pushed the 3DO to or even beyond its limit, a bit like Killing Time. The graphics are good, but the colours a...

I think Wolfenstein is a very underrated game on the 3DO. It came out a bit too late in its lifespan; I don't know why this wasn't released much earlier as it would have stolen some thunder from the Jag's version and would have given an alternative to Monster Manor, which wasn't bad either. I comple...

Pretty much devoted to 3DO
I have:
Panasonic FZ1 (PAL)
New boxed Panasonic FZ10 (NTSC)
Sega Dreamcast
I have been tempted to get an Amiga 1200 again and a Jaguar (to reassure myself that 3DO was miles better, lol)

It was scheduled for an April 96 release in the UK and was meant to be one of 3DO's last major releases (what a bag it could have gone out with eh?) before ahem... the M2. Obviously they decided to ditch the 3DO version and focused on an M2 release for the following year, of course we are still wait...

I went with FIFA, as it was one of the first 3DO games to blow me away all those years ago and I still play it today. Unfortunately there is no guide for Robinsons Requiem. The guides in issue 15 are Snowjob and Shockwave 2. The issue cost me just £9!!! Couldn't believe how lucky I was, as my max bid was set at £25. Ohh I could never sell them, they're the holy grail for me, haha. They gave Lucienne's Quest a very favourable review with 4 stars, but stated that it was a little too easy and short to warrant 5 stars.
