Welcome back Zook. I agree, it was totally cool to have Stallone (and Snipes) film scenes specifically for this game. Even today almost 20 years later, how many movie games still can't manage to secure original cast? . Indeed, and another thing i forgot to say is i love the fighting scenes when i w...

I'm back

I have not posted in awhile was unemployed for a little while then crawled into a dark, withdrawn hole but now I am back and happy to see this thread, I love this game to death and actually this was the game that made me want a 3DO in 1995. It is a primitive game but as long as you do not compare it...

I only have a top 15 for my personal list, I have not explored that many titles, and many I don't even want to, even though I love the 3DO and certain 3DO games I love to death, most games just suck  How can you say most 3DO games suck if you admit to not exploring many, or even wanting to...

HELP!!! The Horde cheat codes!

Ok I want to cheat a little. I love the game but I hate dying and running so damn slow. I have cheat codes for invincibility and running faster; however, when I try them they don't work. I did get them to work one time, so I know I am not being fed bogus codes via online, the problem is, I do not kn...

Ok time for me to bust in on this the best I can, first according to critics and popularity: 1. Star Control II (not my opinion but has been the general consensus for some time, I still love it though 8) ) 2. Need for Speed (I have no interest in this game, but it was still huge) 3. Road Rash (I don...

I'd enjoy seeing an advert for the game. I can see why the 3DO port didn't get one, as it was released over a year later. Plus 3DO games didn't seem to get much advertisement, especially in the early days. But I'd think the game must have had some pc ads. I have tried looking and found nothing, I a...

This game did not get much promotion either, I still can't find a Sherlock Holmes poster or AD from back then for my collection.

Also, do not get the PC Lost files because it does not use actors just cartoon images that talk. It makes for a lesser version. Much lesser. No fmv, no speech, even the music takes a big hit. Besides being of lesser quality, in the pc game the music only plays at the start of each location. It will...

I actually never played Night Trap, I have only seen the game play; therefore, I could not roast too hard, I probably should have left it out of the comparison. I thought about getting it but I just don't want to pay $40-$50 for it. Actually, I got my copy for $21 shipped. Admittedly it didn't come...

It's a top 10 for me! But I do love the genre. There are plenty of reasons why I can see people not caring much for point n' click games. The thing is though, The Lost Files of Sherlock Holmes avoids most if not all of these annoying traits ... For instance, I hate pixel hunting. Having to painstak...

Now Sherlock Holmes with the long box is only $15-$20  At that price it's a huge steal! :) Even if you aren't a big fan of the genre, every 3DO owner should play Lost Files at least once. It succeeds where other point n' click games fail, and Holmes is a timeless great character. This thread ...

I zinged those because it's pretty much a personal preference of mine about the acting in a game. I am the type of person that gets annoyed very easily, and since the acting is so aweful, it would drive me nuts. The biggest problem I had with Mad Dog McCree and Drug Wars was not just the acting, it...

What I learned dialouge not only affects the outcome, it means you will be stuck in the game if you don't get it right. I had been stuck for weeks in the past because I did not get one tiny little speech thing right. As someone who likes exhausting every possible piece of dialouge though, I prefer ...

The clues being buried in the descriptions are a key element that makes the conversations so interesting. Another thing to note about this game is how one's vocabulary can increase from playing this. I now use the word "impass" thanks to this game. Watson is played by an actor named Laurie Main. He is my favorite actor in the game. Sherlock is played by David Davies. Btw, some of the actors play more than one role. It's a credit to their skill (and the makeup artist, costume designer, hair stylists, etc ...) that I didn't know this until view...

Different games call for different styles. In Off World Interceptor for example the acting is awful, but it's clearly meant to be. It's a delibarate attempt to copy Mystery Science Theater. Since I expect awful acting, it fits perfectly. Night Trap is a game who's very plot calls for acting of a le...

Very nice to be able to hear about this game. Prior to this, I myself hadn't been sure whether it was the same as the Turbo CD/Sega CD game (not that I've played that one either). Time 2 Die

On the subject of one of the best 3DO games "Killing Time," also one of my favorites. I remember back in 1994 as 13 year old boy reading one of my usually "Gamepro" magazines and remember coming across a section that showed pics and quick blurbs about 3DO games. I had already fallen in love earlier ...

There is definite humour in the game. Not slapstick like some of the Sierra games, but more intelligent. Except maybe at the Zoo when Holmes wonders 'if the smell is from one animal, or a combination?' :P Cool, this topic spanned a second page! 8) I never thought this thread would go this far, just...
