I think it's about time I properly introduce myself here. I am a global moderator on the AtariAge website and found my way over here after mattyg posted over there in the Jaguar forum. I'm a long time fan of the Jaguar (and all other things Atari) but have always been interested in the 3DO system. I...

Actually you would be able to play those games straight from the box. Even prior to the encryption key for the Jaguar being released, there were bypass solutions available, which I think is what most of the Songbird releases use. Any game that you buy on cart should work fine, as they're either encr...

Don't get me wrong here. Although I've never owned a 3DO, I did spend plenty of time with many of the games. I've played Need For Speed, and will easily say it was the best racer of its generation. I never played any of the ports to the other systems, so I couldn't say how it stacked up to those. Re...

Just curious Sauron, how many 3DO games do you own? None whatsoever, so I must admit that my opinion of each console against the other is pretty lopsided. However, I'm not totally unfamiliar with the 3DO either. I've had several friends who owned one, and one in particular had a pretty large select...

I think 3DOKid brings up a lot of good points. I just don't agree with his overall assessment. The Jaguar had quite a few genre-defining/redefining games in its own right. I think the influence of games like Tempest 2000, AvP, Rayman, etc cannot be understated. DoctorClu also brings up a good point....

I was always a huge Jaguar fan and always sided with the Jag in the Jag vs. 3DO debates of yesteryear. However, that was all about 15 years ago. Both systems only live in through the hardcore fans now, so there's no point in bickering between each other. I'm more than willing to throw some support b...

I wouldn't see any problem with a 3DO fan attending JagFest. I'm a diehard Atari geek but I plan on attending the Commodore Expo here in Las Vegas later in the month. :) I think the system wars of years past are relegated to that era in time. Both systems were officially buried by their creators ove...
