Re: 3DO VIVID INTERACTIVE RELEASES

Virtual Vivid is missing from your list and it came packaged in two different formats.

Also, Steamy Windows was never released.

Re: Review: Peter Frankl - Tower of Puzzle

Sorry to disappoint. I've never even seen one. For some reason I do seem to remember reading about this before. There is probably some article about this in one of the obscure Japanese 3DO publications.

Re: E*B*A*Y time to forgive.

Is it ok to post links to Ebay auctions now? If so, where?
We've been doing it for a while in the M2 section, so I'm guessing it's ok?

I've got a meaty 3DO auction I need to advertise.

I've long wondered (and I might have asked it before) but who is that critter on the packaging?

To be honest, I'm not sure. I suppose there may be another Korean exclusive out there with that character playing the lead, or maybe they had one planned.

Actually, the 3DO Game Guru did come in a cardboard box which contained the jewel case. It's not the typical long-box though. Much more cubic in shape.

I have some internal 3DO newsletters that were sent out to developers, licensees, etc. that I believe gave the current sales figures for hardware. I'll see if I can locate where I stored them and post the numbers (if I am remembering correctly, that is).

Very interesting, I've never seen this before either. That's what's so fun (and somethimes infuriating as a collector) when collecting Japanese titles; just when you think you've seen it all, something new comes along that you've never seen beofre. Yes, exactly. I've been saying that same thing for...

Not sure about the differences between the PAL and US Versions. Sadly, the way to tell the differences between the Glitched and Non Glitched US versions are long gone unless people were ingenious and took the gold sticker from the cellophane. Not to worry. You can still tell if your Horde game is t...

Doom is another one that almost had a Japan release. The "plug" must have been pulled at the very last minute on Doom for Japan. I uploaded that video of the president of Art Data Interactive visiting Japan and talking about how Doom was all set to be released there. There's probably a Japanese buil...

No, those games were not released in North America.

However, a North American release of Defcon 5 was very close. Here is a picture of a Defcon 5 NA build I have. It was very close to having a long-box release.

I understand why something like this doesn't exist. Actually, something like this does exist on a small scale for the NES. One of the reasons the game collecting community as a whole doesn't count these items is probably due to the fact that it is very difficult to pin down what came packaged with w...

Documenting 3DO Game Contents

I'm not sure how many people will be interested in this, but I've been wanting to throw this idea out there for a while, and so here it is. There is almost no information available anywhere that defines what constitutes a "complete" 3DO game (or system, for that matter). A lot of 3DO games are sold ...

Besides the price, the fact it doesn't have 3DO related markings is a bit of a turn-off. Unlike what the auction description states, I do not believe this to be a promotional item for UMKIII/3DO. If it were a promotional item for the game on the 3DO, it would almost certainly have a 3DO logo of some...

That's a good guess.

I'm pretty sure it was supposed to be a polygonal fighter, which would probably place its development fairly late into the lifespan of the 3DO.
